Inner Peace by Orlando Martinez

"Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" Matthew 22:34-40

Inner peace is another word for well-being and self-esteem i.e. the state of being comfortable, healthy, peaceful and happy. Inner peace is accomplished through the practice of the principals and values of honor, innocents, trustworthiness, compassion, patience, thoughtfulness, forgiveness, wisdom or common sense, love and kindness. When these principals and values are put into action, in the community, then they create Inner peace and God. When gathered together they create the spirit and soul that is God and consequently become inner peace.

When we have these values and principals, bestowed on us by inner peace our service to God and the world community, then we will have inner peace. It is given to us as a recognition of service to God, Jesus and the community. "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" Matthew 22:34-40 is one of the first requirements in the search for inner peace.

Pope John Paul 2 went to prison to forgive the Turkish gunman, Mehmet Ali Ağca, who tried to assasinate him in 1981. A television news film showed that Ağca was so impress by the Inner peace radiating from the Pope that he humbly approached the Pope, the man he tried to kill, with respect.

The Pope said as he held the gun mans hand, "How can we stand before God if we cannot forgive eachother."
